Derek McBurney
About the author

On the side, Derek tries his hand at freelance web development, as well as playing around with many web projects that never see the light of day. He's had lots of website ideas bounce around in his head but ultimately they gruesomely die, however, Derek has high hopes that CalgaryUrbanite won't be next in a long line of failures. CalgaryUrbanite is a website to make a difference, however small, instead of a website to make money. Derek wishes more people would live their life focusing on the former and not the latter.
Outside of his geeky endeavours, he loves to play sports (albeit rarely succeed at them), watch sports (now that he can succeed at!), be somewhat socially active, listen to music, read books, and attempt to cook.
Derek also finds it awkward to write in third person.
